Club news

Wow what a great turn out!

We have some new faces on the club Executive.

Welcome to:

Dave Lackey - New Club President
Michael Jiggins - Website Keeper
Tamara Baldwin - Public Relations

The club will once again affiliate with the OCA and require riders to be OCA insured.

Club fees will not change - remaining at $40 or $15 if you have a license with the OCA.

Kick off registration will take place at Buds on the Bay , breakfast, on April 2, 2011.

Here is what to look forward to for 2011:

Tuesday night touring and Thursday night training rides. Ideally we will have two groups each night to do different pace.

Thursday Night Time Trials - one in June and one in August - volunteers will be needed. There will also be a group ride for those not doing the TT.

Ideas/organizers wanted for weekend touring rides.

Bring a Friend Nights- Two in May - nights to be determined - the friend will be required to pay the insurance fee of $25 and sign the OCA waiver the night they join a group ride - if they are happy and want to join great - for those that are not sure they will be re-reimbursed after the ride.

Ideas to invite other clubs down for points or donuts prize nights may also be built into the ride schedule.

BCC Kit order: Todd has been volunteered to spear head a new order. Will redesign kit. More details to follow.

PR Role: - with the help of Tamara's PR skills - will try to advertise the clubs activities - radios/paper etc. - ride nights, results etc. in efforts to grow club numbers.

Ride Schedule: Roy, Pete and Steve B will work out ride schedules to be posted by the beginning of May. A combination of Marks, 2nd Concession Tabernacle, Mallorytown and Todd's Place meeting locations will be selected as well as ride nights where South end and North End groups meet at a certain location at a certain time. An easy pattern to remember would be appreciated to prevent riders (like me) from showing up at the wrong location.

Also ideas have been generated to populate Facebook to exchange information regarding the club and rides etc. The ideas will be discussed through the season - for now our main forum for communication will continue to be this website.
